Direct foreign investment
is a global process, which encompasses the world economy. However, the
process of investment must take into account specific objectives and circumstances.
Within this context, C.I.C. has developed a methodology and range of activities
that can assist in putting together foreign investors and domestic partners
in order to realize joint investments in Croatia.
To facilitate the initiation
of the cooperation between domestic partners and potential foreign investors,
C.I.C. has put together a Catalog of Investment Projects to be offered
to foreign investment funds and investors. As part of the above mentioned
project, C.I.C. has started creating its own data base containing the projects
of entrepreneurs in Croatia that have expressed a desire to make contact
with potential partner investors.
This complex job has been
initiated by C.I.C., utilizing an already developed system that uses the
most contemporary internationally accepted methodology and which corresponds
to that which the EBRD uses for the processing of investment projects.
Previous experiences from similar project conducted by the Croatian Ministry
of Development and Reconstruction, have also been used.
C.I.C., has organized
a continuous process of project catalog enlargement and updating, relying
on government bodies, on the county level and municipal level.
C.I.C. assists foreign
investors in locating appropriate projects on an as requested basis.
Thanks to C.I.C. well
established regular communication with government bodies on the county
level, as well as the knowledge of local resources, it is possible to identify
adequate project proposals within a short period of time. 550 projects
have been registered and processed, out of which 330 have been translated
into English and prepared for negotiations. At least five hundred additional
realizable projects are expected to be received from other counties. However,
since this data base is continuously growing, one can be expect the eventual
total to be a much larger number.
